Lloyds Bank

Lloyds International is one of the bank’s four key portals that can be accessed through the main .com site.

The aim of the project was to redesign the site to bring International into line with the bank’s digital guidelines, while giving it a distinct look and feel of its own.

The goal was to take the existing International site and bring it into line with Lloyds look and feel, while still giving it an identity of its own, positioned between the mainsteam primary brand and the higher end private banking service.

This led to me adopting cues from both; lowercase from the .com, lighter type weights from private, it’s own shade of green positioned between the brighter main brand and the darker high end etc.

I also totally reworked the UX to better fit into the style laid down by the .com and created a full pattern library to support the site going forward. This served as a forerunner to what LBG would later call ‘Unified Design Framework’ that now underpins all digital design across the group.

This was my first project for Lloyds, it led to me working on a number of others; redesigning the Commercial Finance site, an iPad app for Private Banking, concept work for Business and Black Horse, as well as designing for Bank of Scotland, Halifax and Scottish Widows.

THANKS TO THE WAYBACK MACHINE, HERE’S WHAT I HAD TO WORK WITH…
